My time spent with marine mammals - whales, dolphins, and porpoises - is a time of constant awe and wonderment.
They were once seen as "sea monsters" and populations were almost hunted to extinction however today, we are the protectors of them and their habitat for future generations to observe and study.
I share my photography of the cetaceans, fishes and other sea animals sharing my joy and my concern.
Faroe-Shetland Island
Basin; Fin whale:
West of the Shetland Islands, a pod of Fin whales known to be the swiftest of all great whales, approached the vessel uncharacteristically surfacing and diving in alternation. Bits of sunshine streamed in-between the clouds, when combined with the whales blow send a rainbow of colours into its wake.

Portugal, Bottlenose mum &
calf:
Two miles off the southern Portugal coast, a bottlenose mum and calf cruise along the grotto-infused coastline.

Dustin Michael; Bottlenose
In the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, a pod of 20 bottlenose dolphins encircled the 80 ft. shrimp trawler.
Gliding with swift movements under the surface on approach, shortly they begin their acrobatic maneuvers jumping in synchronization, spinning like a ballerina and darting under the speeding bow, then disappearing as quickly as they arrived.
